Partners
The Together4Change consortium consists of four Dutch development organisations - Wilde Ganzen, NICWO, SOS kinderdorpen and International Child Support - each with extensive experience and its own long history. And each with its own focus. Together we are working for a better future for communities, families and their children. In addition, Together4Change is supported by a number of Expert Partners:
Investing in Children and their Societies (ICS)
Investing in Children and their Societies (ICS) is a Dutch civil society organisation established in 1980 actively working towards poverty alleviation in rural areas of Africa and Asia. ICS wants to contribute to lasting change processes towards poverty reduction, inclusion and the wellbeing of children and young people. The emphasis is on enabling people themselves to take the lead and drive their own change processes. For more information please see www.ics.nl for more information.
SOS Kinderdorpen
SOS Children's Villages is an international non-governmental social development organisation. In 132 countries and territories their activities focus on children without parental care and children at risk of losing the care of their families. SOS Kinderdorpen believes that every child needs a safe and loving home to develop to its full potential. Thanks to their programmes - strengthening families of origin and our unique family-based care, children can grow up in a stable family environment where they receive individual support and guidance towards an independent life as adults. Another pillar of their work is education and training, as key to the future. The basis and aim of the work of SOS Kinderdorpen is to respect, promote and stand up for children's rights. They encourage children, their families and communities to actively take part in the decision-making processes that affect their lives. Please see www.soskinderdorpen.nl for more information.
NICWO
NICWO wants to support children who have no choice but to grow up without a protective home or who are in danger of losing this. NICWO also dedicates itself to responsible intercountry adoption for children who do not have the chance to grow up in a loving family. NICWO takes these children's interests at heart as well as the interests of the prospective parents who will give these children a new home.
NICWO's view is based on one of the principles of the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child: "...that the child, for the full and harmonious development of his or her personality, should grow up in a family environment, in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding". NICWO expresses this right in its motto: "Every child is entitled to a home". Please see www.NICWO.nl for more information.
Wilde Ganzen
Aim and background: all over the world, Wilde Ganzen (Wild Geese) supports disadvantaged people, through their Dutch partners, who make an effort to achieve a better future for their community. Our support is meant for small-scale and specific projects of, for and by the people themselves in developing countries and a number of Eastern European countries, without distinguishing between race, language, religion or orientation.
Wilde Ganzen tries to achieve this aim by raising funds for the projects together with the Dutch partner. Besides, we have been raising funds by means of a weekly radio and television appeal through the Dutch inter-church broadcasting IKON ever since our formation in 1957. Please see www.wildeganzen.nl for more information.
